Storyboard-James Murray, Jackson Doudney, Jackson Veale
For Preliminary Task 2 I was in charge of the storyboard and was the story artist for most of the shots. I relied heavily on Jackson Veale as we were filming at his house and I had no reference to the location look and the overall mise-en-scene of the place. Because of this I had him draw some shots (like the final shot) or help edit some shots to accommodate for the area we were going to be filming at.He was also in charge of the script so I worked closely with him to make sure that all the shots we would need were drawn.Jackson Doudney was also a great help as he was in charge of the storyboard for the previous shoot. He also had a lot of film experience which I was able to use in order to guide me on the best course of action when creating a shot and determining the best angle and frame to capture each individual shot.

Despite this preparation though we did run into problems on the day of the shoot. Unlike last time were the main camera operator created both the storyboard and shot list, I was creating them and Jackson Veale was to film. This meant that he had a lack of vision for the effect of each shot and didn't understand the overall purpose of each shot. from this a bit of tension was caused on the day as none of the crew fully understood the concept and we ended up having to go off script, storyboard and shot list in order to finish the shoot.
From this we have all learned that it is ideal for the camera operator to create the storyboard and shot list while everyone else contributes their ideas to him. This will provide a clearer and less stressful course for our next film.
Shot list-James Murray, Jackson Doudney, Jackson Veale
For this we had the same intents and issues as with the storyboard, though by having the opportunity to create both of these did give me the experience to do both better if the need aroused. It also showed how clear we needed to be with each other as neither of the other 2 crew members were able to decipher my shot list due to the way I had laid it out. This meant that if I was unable to be at the shoot for some reason my role couldn't have been fulfilled by three other team members. Due to this experience we all now know the importance of communication and clarity between us. For the Foundation Portfolio we decided as a team that it would be best for the camera man to do the shot list while discussing with the team as to the aim that we are aiming for.
